President Nathan Deal – How Does That Grab You
Seems some Georgians really think the best thing to do is for the state to leave the Union once again. How are they planning to do this? Read on!
Seems just two months ago, the White House expanded it’s website to allow citizens to easily enter a petition to President Obama. Any petition that gets over 25,000 signatures AUTOMATICALLY MUST be responded to by government officials.
There are several petitions from the State of Georgia that have been submitted in the last few days. The most popular two have currently has garnered over 6,200 signatures.
Basically, here is how both of these start off…
Peacefully grant the State of Georgia to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government.
As the founding fathers of the United States of America made clear in the Declaration of Independence in 1776:
“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.”
“…Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and institute new Government…”

Several other states have petitions as well. One from Texas has over 17,000 signatures.
Is this a good idea? You tell us. Keep in mind, the State of GA has lots of poverty that we would have to attend if we formed our own country and we get an awful lot of Federal money to help with it and other items as well. Tons of road maintence, esp around Atlanta would have to be paid for. One of the largest Airports in the world would suddenly have almost every flight as international instead of domestic. It would be MUCH harder to take a trip to the beach or go to Alabama to see a football game. Not to mention, those of you who are retired could immediately kiss Social Security checks goodbye.
