PHILLIP PHILLIPS MADE IT TO AMERICAN IDOL!!!

Local resident Phillip Phillips has hit the big time!

Get ready to stay glued to your television sets for the next month! Local musician Phillip Phillips, a graduate of Lee County High, made this years cut for American Idol
and it’s rumored that he made it all the way to the top 42, which means we will be seeing lots more of him once American Idol debuts for it’s 12th season next week!

Phillip Phillips Performing at Cask and Kilt

Phillip was selected after an audition at a regional event during the summer. On December 12th contestants went to Pasadena,California and then on to Las Vegas,Nevada for further elimination. It appears Phillip survived the elimination and returned home just before Christmas to be with his family for the Holidays as he was seen around town.

According to several sources on the internet, Phillip Phillips is currently in Hollywood,CA to begin the next round of competition along with 41 other contestants hoping to find a place in the top 24 slots. Once Phillips makes this cut, we as a community have to come together, man the phones and keep our local talent in the running each and every week!

When contacted, the family of Phillip had no comment.

American Idol begins it’s televised season next Wednesday, Jan 19th on Fox at 8pm. The series will air on Wed and Thursday nights. Make sure to come to Cask and Kilt Irish Pub early on these evenings to support Phillip and watch on their big screens! Each week this is going to be a huge party as Phillip advances further into the competition. With everyones help and votes we can bring some much needed positive attention on our town!
